Wow! as always, your work is worth waiting for! The birds have such a whimsical quality. I am continually photographing and sometimes sketching birds but i have yet to put them into fabric. I like the simplicity of it and your use of fabric. You really have captured something here. do you work from your own photographs and drawings?
You have inspired me. I've been sketching from pictures of red polls at my feeder on my deck. I think I'll use snow colors (white and turquoise) for the background. Mine will be on the snow as opposed to on the branches like yours, although I confess I like that better. It seems to give movement to the piece. You can almost see the branches swaying in your piece. The red polls seem to like to ground feed at least around the feeder anyway. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to add a little vegetation to the background. I do have some samples that I've picked while snow shoeing.

I'm still trying to sort out the Gnomons, but I totally get this! It's wonderful.
